The global reality in which the company has to operate in presents various problems; such as the economic and social development being independent from the conservation of the environment, but at the same time, sensibility towards ecological causes is increasing. For Mediagraf the environment is of central importance, and ISO 14001:2004 certification is proof of it.
This Organization has adopted an environmental management system which meets the requirements of EMAS regulation with the aim to constantly improve its environmental performance and to publish an environmental declaration. This environmental management system has been verified, and the environmental declaration has been validated from an accredited environmental verifier.
Mediagraf SpA., since its establishment, has always favored constant and timely protection of workers’ health and safety.
UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification attests to the voluntary application, within the company’s organization, of a system that makes it possible to guarantee adequate control with regard to the health and safety of workers, in addition to compliance with mandatory regulations.
FSC® Certification guarantees that all raw materials of wooden origin (paper and wood) come from forests which are managed and operated following a correct environmental, social and economic management system (with respect towards biodiversity and local populations). FSC® is internationally recognised. Central to the certification is the concept of traceability of the production chain at each step. Due to this, only a certified company can expose the FSC trademark on its products, and only a certified typography can use the trademark on its own printings.
Having noticed an increasing interest in institutions, corporations, environmental organizations, clients and other stakeholders for the high standards of forest management activity, Mediagraf decided to certify its products according to FSC standards.
To obtain the certification, Mediagraf demonstrated and demonstrates periodically to a certification body (internationally accredited), to dispose such an organisation which is able to guarantee the correct management of paper based raw materials. Mediagraf has achieved FSC Certification in September 2007 by the certification body Woodmark Soil Association, continuing from July 2012 with CERTIQUALITY certification body. FSC trademark confers to Mediagraf printings, therefore also to the company who chooses the, a high ethical value of social and ecological responsibilities, recognisable anywhere in the world. Public Administration also recognises such value and has made a precise indication to recognise the “green product” to insert in Green Public Procurement policies.
Mediagraf Spa has decided to guarantee to its customers the production of graphical-editorials made with FSC certified material, and to implement and maintain a chain of custody management system.
With such ideal the company commits on:
- Checking raw material certifications and its suppliers;
- Training employees directly involved in the Chain of Custody and in particular employers involved in the management of supplies;
- To suspend the selling of FSC products when non meeting FSC standards as defined in FSC Manual;
- To use FSC logo only when products reach the minimum requirements requested by FSC standards.
PEFC – Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes is an initiative promoted by forest owners and from part of the European wood industry sector, for the certification of forestry property with the objective of spreading a forest management systems which will protect the environment, respecting human, civil and economical rights of involved populations.
PEFC trademark becomes synonym of Social and Ecological Responsibility, and is therefore of central importance for all those companies who believe in environmental protection and social commitment.
Mediagraf has always been careful to ethical and environmental values, and in May 2008 achieved PEFC certification from C.A.T.G. certification body. In 2010, due to the closing of the Italian C.A.T.G. office, Mediagraf continued its certification with Woodmark Soil Association certification body, and from July 2012 with CERTIQUALITY certification body.
With the new code of contracts, PEFC certified products have become part of those considered “ecological”, and therefore available in respect of Green Public Procurement available for purchase by Public Administrations.
