Legislative Decree 116/2020, which came into effect on January 1, 2023, requires that all packaging must be properly labeled to facilitate its collection, reuse, recovery and recycling.
Such labeling must also give correct information to people about the final disposal of packaging.
The regulations suggest that labeling be done in the form and manner that the company deems most appropriate and effective for achieving the objective. It also suggests that, consistent with the process of technological innovation and simplification and in order to ensure compliance with the principles of free movement of goods guaranteed by the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the use of digital channels should always be allowed.
